Scarperia is only a short train or car ride away from the Tuscan capital, Florence, where one can enjoy a full day of history and sightseeing. A good starting point would be Brunelleschi's Florence Dome, a must to see when visiting Florence. From here the historical Piazza della Signoria is only a short walk away down the pedestrians only street, Via Calzaiuoli, where one can admire some beautiful shops, bars, and café's while strolling to the square. The Piazza holds one of the most magnificent monuments in Florence; the Uffizi Palace and Gallery where art work of some of the most famous Italian artists of all time await your eyes. Keep walking and in only a minute you will find yourself in front of the River Arno and the magnificent Ponte Vecchio, the picture postcard symbol of Florence with jewelry shops galore. If you're still in the mood, from the bridge you can easily reach the Pitti Palace, home of many of Florence's nobility, with the Boboli Gardens in the back. Have a nice day!!
